The issue of the Student Pilot Licence is required before the student is allowed to fly solo and is also your first step in obtaining your Private Pilots Licence (PPL).
The minimum age for the issue of this licence is sixteen years. The applicant must be able to speak, read, write and comprehend the English Language and you also need to pass a medical conducted by a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner before commencing your flying training.
Once the applicant has passed the Basic Aeronautical Knowledge (BAK) exam and the General Flying Progress Test (GFPT) they are allowed to carry passengers within the local training area. The minimum hours for the GFPT are as follows:
